Cahill Named 2003 Walter J. McNerney Fellowship Recipient
Patricia A. Cahill, Esq., has been awarded the 2003 Walter J. McNerney Fellowship by the Health Research and Educational Trust (HRET) of the American Hospital Association. The fellowship recognizes the contributions made to health care during the 45-year career of Walter J. McNerney, professor emeritus of health policy at the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University, Evanston, Ill. Each year, HRET names one fellow who has demonstrated a consistent pattern of leadership and innovation.
The fellowship includes an award of $10,000, which can be used to pursue work that continues McNerney’s legacy and works toward improving outcomes in health care.
"Pat Cahill represents the leadership needed in 21st century health care," said Mary Pittman, president of HRET. "It is noteworthy that Catholic Health Initiatives has developed systems that continue her vision for high quality health care for diverse populations and will endure after her retirement. Her commitment to an organizational culture that emphasizes patient care while operating with highly efficient processes is consistent with Walt McNerney’s passion for excellence."
