St. Anthony Hospitals in Denver among the first to offer new implantable cardiac defibrillator system

St. Anthony Hospitals, part of Centura Health, Denver, Colo., are among the first medical facilities in the nation to offer the InSync implantable cardiac defibrillator (ICD) system for heart failure patients, a treatment option recently approved by the Food and Drug Administration. The system, developed by Medtronic of Minneapolis, Minn., combines cardiac resynchronization therapy with defibrillation protection to treat patients who have left ventricular dysynchrony and are at risk for potentially lethal ventricular arrhythmias.
