Safety manager at TriHealth in Cincinnati accepted to fellowship program

Sandi King, clinical safety manager at TriHealth in Cincinnati, Ohio, has been accepted into Virginia Commonwealth University’s Patient Safety Fellowship Program, sponsored by the school’s Department of Health Administration. The program is designed for health care professionals involved with patient safety issues, including pharmacists, occupational safety professionals, clinical quality and risk management professionals, physicians, nurses, representatives from the armed forces and attorneys. King is one of only 40 individuals selected to participate. "I am excited to be part of this program and to have the opportunity to discuss ways to improve patient safety with individuals from across the United States," said King. "Every person involved with this program has a strong commitment to creating and maintaining the safest health care environment possible." The eight-month, Internet-based program requires participants to design and implement a patient safety project. "Patient safety is a primary focus for our organization," said King. King, who has been an employee of TriHealth for 17 years, will continue her responsibilities at TriHealth while completing the fellowship program.
