Physicians at St. Vincent in Little Rock use new tool to manage irregular heartbeat

Physicians at St. Vincent Health System, Little Rock, Ark., have a new tool to assist them in the management of patients who have irregular heartbeats, or arrhythmia. St. Vincent has Little Rock’s only adult electrophysiology lab with bi-plane capabilities, which provides two views of the heart simultaneously. The advanced system gives a clear, three-dimensional display of the heart’s electrical activity, which allows electrophysiologists to pinpoint the exact location of a patient’s arrhythmia within the span of a few heartbeats. In addition, the tool targets sites for curative catheter procedures. For more information, contact Lynn Weaks, vice president of cardiovascular services at St. Vincent, at 501/552-3928.
