Catholic Health Initiatives Helps Mercy Housing Raise $800,000

Catholic Health Initiatives recently served as a sponsor of Mercy Housing’s 20th Anniversary Gala, which raised $800,000 for the cause of affordable housing. Mercy Housing, one of the nation’s largest affordable housing providers, will use the funds to develop more affordable housing throughout its network, which operates in 23 states.

We’ve been overwhelmed by the support we have received for this event," said Lillian Murphy, RSM, president and chief executive officer of Mercy Housing. "In particular, the support from Catholic Health Initiatives tells us that we must be doing something right."

Mercy Housing, headquartered in Denver, has six regional development corporations, operates a property management company and loan fund, and is sponsored by 11 communities of Catholic women religious. Mercy Housing serves more than 30,000 people, has developed more than 12,000 units of housing and employs nearly 850 people nationwide. Catholic Health Initiatives is a member of Mercy Housing’s Strategic Health Care Partnership.
