New Owner Sought for St. Catherine’s Residence in North Bend
Catholic Health Initiatives and the Board of Directors of St. Catherine’s Residence in North Bend, Ore., announced that they will look for a new owner to take over the facilities, programs and services of St. Catherine’s and Evergreen Court. "The decision follows a comprehensive evaluation by Catholic Health Initiatives and the local board," said Patricia A. Cahill, JD, president and chief executive officer for Catholic Health Initiatives. "Together, we concluded that new ownership would be best for the community, residents and employees and may help assure greater success for the organization in the future."
Catholic Health Initiatives will actively approach a range of potential buyers, including Catholic, other not-for-profit and for-profit organizations. Catholic Health Initiatives and St. Catherine’s board will consider a number of variables in evaluating possible new owners, including their ability to maintain services and staff as well as the values-based heritage of the Sisters of Mercy in North Bend. The transfer of St. Catherine’s to a new owner is expected to be complete in 2002.
