Most market-based organizations are highly visible in their communities simply by virtue of the size of their facilities, their status as employers and their reputations for quality care. What is not always so obvious is the fact that market-based organizations funnel millions of dollars into their hometowns in the form of services delivered to the poor and the broader community.
