Good Samaritan in Merrill receives grant for end-of-life care
Good Samaritan Health Center, Merrill, Wis., is one of 12 organizations nationwide to receive a grant from Supportive Care of the Dying: A Coalition for Compassionate Care. The grant is for participation in the coalition’s CALL Care Project. CALL stands for Comprehensive, Adaptable, Longitudinal and Life-affirming care, and the project builds on organizational and community strengths to enhance end-of-life care. Good Samaritan, along with Comfort Care & Hospice Services and the Merrill End-of-Life Taskforce, is piloting CALL service for individuals, families and the community. The pilot, which began December 1, focuses on 30 clients who are using end-of-life care services.
