St. John’s in Joplin arms truckers against the flu

To help stop the spread of the flu from state to state, St. John’s Regional Medical Center, Joplin, Mo., offered truck drivers a chance to arm themselves against the flu during its first Drive-through Flu Clinic for truck drivers. Truck drivers from as far away as Florida and Washington rolled up their sleeves for flu shots at the Flying J Travel Plaza east of Joplin. One of the truck drivers, S.T. Rendon of Dallas, Texas, said he hadn’t received a flu shot in years because his busy schedule didn’t allow time to make rrangements. "I wasn’t even thinking about getting one, but I’m glad you all were here," he said. For more information, contact Robin McAlester, media/promotion coordinator for
