Michael Hammer, president and chief executive officer of Good Samaritan Health Center in Merrill, Wis., displays a T-shirt presented to Bryan Williams, one of the babies born during the hospital's 75th anniversary celebration.

On November 15, 1926, the first patient was admitted to Holy Cross Hospital, now known as Good Samaritan Health Center, in Merrill, Wis. To mark the 75th anniversary of the hospital, Good Samaritan held a community open house in November. The hospital encouraged members of the community who were born there to send in birthday cards and copies of their baby photos, which were on display during the open house. "The story of Holy Cross Hospital and Good Samaritan could not be told without the community, for they have made it all possible," said Michael Hammer, president and chief executive officer of Good Samaritan. "The celebration is as much an appreciation of the past as it is a kick-off for the future."
