TriHealth, Cincinnati, OH, has set new goals to increase the organization’s leadership diversity and supply chain spending with minority, women and veterans. This is part of TriHealth’s long-term commitment to diversity and inclusion, according to Mark Clement, president and CEO.

The goals build on a 2020 Call to Action unveiled by Clement on behalf of the region’s health systems in the spring at the South Central Ohio Healthcare Supplier Diversity Symposium.  The Call to Action is intended to build the progress health systems have made in increasing spending with minority contractors and in addressing workforce diversity.

“We recognize that while we’ve made progress in recent years, more needs to be done,” said Clement. “We’re committed to dramatically improving the number and percentage of minority physicians practicing in this area, increasing minorities and women in leadership, and committing additional spending in support of minority and women-owned firms.”

TriHealth’s goals include:

  • Improve executive and board leadership diversity by 5%
  • Increase minority representation in the employed physician population from 24% to 29% of total physicians
  • Broaden diverse supplier relationships with minority, women and veteran-owned businesses by 60%
